The SolarEye plug-in for the EyeSpector Smart Camera features hardware, software, and firmware that is specialized and optimized for solar cell inspection. This is achieved through a team effort of world leaders in smart camera technology, machine vision software and machine vision application. The SolarEye meets both the technical challenges unique to the solar cell industry, as well as user requirements learned from extensive experience. For example, the EyeSpector 4300EL features hardware and firmware for optimized detection of microcracks in polycrystalline silicon under low level electroluminescence conditions.
Special adaptations include a highly sensitive sensor that was developed for this task, and solar-specialized filter tools for reliable detection. In addition to solar-optimized tools and design, the extensive general toolset of the EyeVision software is available to accomplish the complete range of automatic inspection and robot guidance machine vision objectives.

The software tools represented by these icons make solar cell inspection intuitively easy.
Determination of Position and Orientation
An example of the analysis for determining the position available in the following screenshot.
The solar cell position and orientation data may be utilized by later stages of the inspection programs, or transmitted externally via available Ethernet, RS323, TCP/IP, UDP, Ethernet/IP, MODBUS/TCP and ProfiNet CAN bus, interbus interfaces.
